Rule #1

We are, first and foremost, a community

Welcome to Joyned Capital, where we believe that athletes have the potential to become successful investors.

We empower athletes to take control of their financial future instead of relying on the opinions of others.

We learn and invest together, as a community

A community by
athletes for athletes

Rule #3

We scout, analyze, and invest as a collective

We evaluate deals as a community, just as clubs evaluate athletes before offering a contract.

Remember, avoiding bad investments is as important as finding good ones. When we do invest, we invest as a community.

That's how you become a smart investor.

Joyned Capital’s three-step investment process:

We scout

We receive investment requests from startups every week. We are interested in reviewing startups that meet the following two criteria:

The startup has created a product vital to improving the world of sports for athletes, coaches, fans, organizers, and owners.

Our community can add value (like introducing potential clients), in addition to a financial investment.

If both criteria check out, we schedule a call to meet the founders. The goal of the meeting is to answer the following question:

Do we want to explore a partnership with these founders to help their business grow fast? If the answer is “yes”, we analyze the startup with our community.

We analyze

When we analyze the startup with the community, we do three things:

We have a second call with the founders, with at least five athletes

We test the product to form an opinion

We gather input from potential buyers to test if we can add value (i.e., revenue) to the startup if we become investors

We write a deal memo if we're still excited about the startup. The deal memo contains all the relevant information to make an investment decision, which we share with our community.

We invest

We make an investment if the commitments from the community have passed €150k and five or more athletes are participating.

After the investment, we activate the network of our community to help the startup with new sales.

What our community members are saying

Joyned Capital helped me plan my investments and improve how I evaluate investment opportunities.

Marc Klok

Joyned Capital provides me with clear guidelines for evaluating business opportunities, which I missed during my career and in my first years of retirement. I’m paying it forward by spreading the word to athletes that they should start with investment education as soon as possible.

Edson Braafheid

My life is centred around football, but I’ve been watching what Jeremiah St. Juste did with Joyned Capital, and it got me curious. Now, I’m learning about startups just by being a part of the community. When I feel ready, I’ll also start investing, which is exactly how Joyned Capital encourages me to act.

Marcus Edwards

Football is my main focus, but Joyned Capital helps me to work on life after sports with other athletes.

Jetro Willems

For the first time in my life, I feel like I have someone in my corner when it comes to making investments. Actually, it’s a whole community!

Edson Braafheid

I wanted access to more deals and support to evaluate the deals. Getting the perspective of the community on investment opportunities helps me to make informed decisions.

for clubs

Smart athletes make smart decisions.
Invest in education.

We provide clubs with educational programs about investing so they can position their athletes to make educated investment decisions.

We aim to help athletes create a secure financial foundation for life after sports. That starts at the club, with education made by athletes for athletes.

startup investments

Pitch your startup to our athlete community

We invest in startups vital to the world of sports.  We look for startups that have a:

Clearly defined problem they are addressing

A committed founding team that will see things through

Monthly recurring revenue of €20K to demonstrate that their solution is liked by their customers

We generally invest between €150-€250K through an SPV - which means our community invests as a collective.
